Hi all,
Mom's improvement continues. She's moving both
her right and right leg, which is the paralyzed side.
The big concern now is breathing because she has
pneumonia and had COPD (Chronic Obstructrive Pulmonary
Disease...in her case Asthmatic Bronchitis) before the
stroke. She's off the ventilator and we're praying
she stays off it. They can't do the speech and
swallowing evaluation until her breathing is more
stabilized, so we don't know the specifics on that,
yet. She's trying to talk and very frustrated that we
don't know what she's saying much of the time. She
understands us, though and communicates with hand
squeezes and nods and blinks.
