Hi all,
Sorry to have been out of touch for so long.
I've gone back to school, which is going well. But
between work and spending time at the nursing home
with mom I don't get time at the computer (except the
school computer which I can't use for personal stuff).
Good news! Mom has graduated to 6 hours of CPAP
(breathing independently) and did it successfully for
the first time today. So the prayers are working!
She's talking, moving her arms and legs, and sat on
the side of the bed with assistance on Friday. The
physical therapists say they will have her walking
again one day. She's having some vision problems but
even those are less extreme than a couple weeks ago.
I read up on this Hemianopsia thing online and there
are some special prism glasses that people with
hemianopsia can wear to read and even drive (not that
I expect she'll ever drive again). So I think
eventually we can fix the vision problems somewhat.
She truly is a miracle. But the big thing is
the breathing because we need to get her off that
ventilator as soon as possible. So please keep
praying and lighting those candles and whatever else
you are doing.
Thanks!
Love,
Susan
