Glad to hear you're on the mend, Mak. Been there, done that--lost my
hubby almost four years ago to that particular blight on the human
race. He had the colonoscopy performed at fifty, when he was already
feeling some general distress in that area. Needless to say, it was
already in the lymph nodes at the time of his surgery. Can't stress
enough the importance of having that colonoscopy done <earlier> than
fifty. A friend of mine did and they found only polyps, no cancer.
That having been said, I found breast cancer over five years ago and
even though I did not follow the above advice at that time, I am
fortunate to still be here (it's not gone, it's in the bones, but
treatable and very slow moving). And a good thing--my youngest
daughter is also about 20 weeks along and her baby is due the end of
March, so I'm gonna be a grandmama! So mazel tov to you! Take care.
