I'm just wondering. Smith isn't in the best of health, and even Chiun
can't keep him alive forever. The story line now allows for a
successor, so the question is, how much longer do you think Smith will
stay around?
I'm not being morbid or anything, but I think it would be nice if he
was able to retire or at least 'get a life' for some time before he
kicks the bucket. Let's see, if I remember correctly, CURE was
supposed to be founded some time in the early '60s, which means Smith
has been its director for about 40 years. Supposing it operated about
5 years before Chiun and Remo came aboard, and Smith was in his
mid-twenties when CURE started, it would place him in his late sixties
now. Who knows, maybe Smith will take a little holiday and Mark
Howard can run things while he's gone. Of course, with Smith's luck,
he would find something that would require Remo's intervention - or
maybe not?
Now don't get me wrong - I don't want to kill Smith off. He is, after
all, CURE incarnate. Maybe after the next election though, he'll feel
like winding down a bit...
Thoughts, anyone?
