Orwell and the Art of Benny Hill

by generalconyers@[EMAIL PROTECTED] Mar 21, 2008 at 01:52 PM

My new boss is a hippy (in the new sense of being a long-haired
computer/sci-fi/role play game nerd in need of as haircut and a good
wash) about a year or so older than me. I was talking about how I find
Benny Hill funny. He got a bit arsy (v PC) and said it was all crap. I
said that I found Benny Hill pinching a girl's bum to the sound of an
Edwardian car horn much more funny than Ricky Gervais or the Mighty
Boosh.
Then I mused on Hill and his relation to Donald Magill. I think on the
whole Orwell would have rather enjoyed the Benny Hill Show.
