'As Sophie cradled her boyfriend's head and pleaded with them to stop
they turned on her - Herbert delivered a volley kick to her face with
Harris joining in to kick and stamp on her head as she lay on the
ground.
During the trial the gang's behaviour was likened to that of a "pack
of animals."
Seconds later an hysterical witness called 999 and when paramedics
arrived shortly after, Robert and Sophie's facial injuries were so bad
that they struggled to identify whether they were male or female.
Sophie died from her injuries two weeks later in intensive care.'
