The Renaissance was an emergence of new thought in many areas,
including literature. "The Imperfect Friend: Emotion & Rhetoric in
Sidney, Milton, and Their Contexts" is a focus on two of the writers
from the period, and their writings on emotion and rhetoric. They are
Sir Philip Sydney and John Milton, and their writings from the
seventeenth century still hold true in the twenty-first. The focus on
the two contributes to an examination of literature in general of the
period, making "The Imperfect Friend" an ideal manual for study for
those learning about the writing of the era. "The Imperfect Friend:
Emotion and Rhetoric in Sidney, Milton, and their Contexts" is highly
recommended for community library philosophy collections.
