Lord of Light and the CIA

by "ckovacs" <ckovacs@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Sep 24, 2006 at 10:26 AM

A Wikipedia entry (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lord_of_Light
[scroll
down to "Film Version"]) mentions that the CIA used a stolen script of
the abandoned "Lord of Light" movie and posed as a crew scouting
locations for that film as part of a scheme that enabled them to rescue
hostages during the Iranian Hostage Crisis circa 1980. It sounds
rather far-fetched but crazy enough to be true.

Now a You-Tube video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AQJa4xk5rss)
shows
an interview with a CIA operative who was involved in just that scheme.
They used the script, set up an office and all the necessary contacts
-- but never actually read the whole script to find out what happens in
the end.

I wonder if Roger knew about any of this?

Chris
