Just got back from "The Three Kings" presentation at the Folger Library
in Wa****ngton, DC. The three titular Kings were Stephen King, his wife,
and his son Owen. They each read excerpts from their most recent work.
Tabitha read from a book she's writing now-- a mystery revolving around
fraud in the antique ****celain trade. [She joked about how she worries
that the esoteric subject matter might limit the audience for the book
somewhat.]
Owen read a short story (can't remember the title) which was both
humorous and tragic about how words and phrases can take on different
meanings between couples.
And Stephen King read an excerpt from Duma Key.
There was a question-and-answer session after the readings but because
they ran long, the moderator only took five questions and unfortunately
they were mostly of the lame "where do you get your ideas?" variety.
Afterward, all three authors were kind enough to sign one book for each
audience member so I was able to get my favorite copy of The Stand
signed.
All in all, a very nice presentation.
