Number one, I'd like to ask if there are any people who actually post
relevant content here or if this is going to turn out like all the
other discussion links and just become a spam repository. I get enough
of that as it is.
My actual reason for the post was to ask this: Is anyone reading
(listening) to the Terry Brooks Audio Books? I've gotten through Faith
of the Fallen and am about to start the Pillars of Creation and just
wanted to see if anyone else had tried these out?
I got a MP3 Player for an early christmas present and have spent the
last 2 months with the words of Goodkind flowng almost non-stop through
my head. I read up to Faith of the Fallen year back, but the rest
weren't written yet so I stopped at that point.
Anyone who has NOT started the audio books, but wants to, should know
one thing; I have no idea why, but Brilliance Audio apparently can't
decide on one narrator so I few of the books jump narrator. It seems to
take each narrator about one third of the book to get accustomed to the
"tone" of the characters. My only complaint with any of the narrators
was in "Faith of the Fallen." When performing as Zed, the narrator
appparently believed him a dottering old man. He adopted the voice of
an ancient old frail man, not the powerful first wizard of the
Midlands. That however, was my only complaint. Thus far, in my opinion,
it seems that the first and second narrators (forgive me for not
looking up their names) were by far the best; they were very dynamic
speakers... making it a totally incredible experience.
Any other readers out there that have tried the audiobooks or have any
comments on the 7th book?
Also, has anyone out there read Chainfire? I believe that's the name of
the newest one of the series. Apparently it had some bad reviews. I'm
not personally sure if the series is "over with" yet or not at this
point in time? Can anyone answer if they know what book truly "ends"
the series?
Thanks.
